I am Jente

I am a visual artist and art teacher based in Drenthe, the Netherlands. I make abstract works in which I work directly with sand, clay and earth. I process the material I collect into pigment myself.

My story

Nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration. My grandmother, the artist and teacher Heleen Bovenberg, taught me from an early age to look closely. I later studied Art and Design Education at ArtEZ in Zwolle.

With my practice I want to invite attention: to slow down and take notice of the nature around us.
